In Him we have redemption through His blood,
the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.
~Ephesians 1:7

My Thoughts:

What a powerful story!!
Jean Gordon quickly becomes a favorite author with her sweet, real to life stories.  This series touches me deeply.  It's about a family, the Donnelly's of course, who grew up in the small community of Schroon Lake.  The Donnelly brothers grew up with the stigma of having a father known as the town drunk who took off never to be heard from again.  Each brother chose their own path, but each must deal with the past before they can move on to a future.
This is Josh's story.  It's a story of friendship, second chances and forgiveness.
Josh is the middle brother and has always had a lot of ambition.  He works for GreenSpaces and is on the fast-tract to move up the corporate ladder.  He feels his life is settled. His best friend for the past couple of years has been Tessa Hamilton.
Tessa inherited the Majestic, a movie theater, located in Schroon Lake from her grandfather a few years ago.  She has had big dreams of renovating it into a dinner theater for years, but most thought she should just sell it and return to her job as a civil engineer.  Once she secured financing her next step was to begin construction, so she turns to her best friend, Josh, for assistance.
Just as things start coming together for both Josh and Tessa, Josh's father shows back up in town.  Old wounds and hidden secrets emerge.  This is a story of friendship, forgiveness, second chances and love. The first few pages drew me in quickly.  The plot line kept me turning the pages.  Jean Gordon takes on tough issues that are resolved realistically.  This is a book and series that I would recommend to anyone.

"For surely I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope."
~Jeremiah 29:11

Jean C. Gordon brings us the second installment to her Donnelly Brothers series.  This is a sweet holiday story, but is more than just a holiday story.  It's about trust, love, forgiveness and hope.
Connor is the pastor at Hazardtown Community Church and heading up the Paradox Lake churches' annual Christmas Eve pagent.  As the production director his biggest crisis was finding an organist since their's was recovering from surgery.  To say Connor and his brothers grew up rough would be an understatement and a small fraction of his congregations still were not convinced that he was the right man to pastor Hazardtown Community.  Of course many were giving his marital staus much thought, because it seemed everyone was trying to play matchmaker.
Natalie Delacroix was back in town to assist her mother for a few weeks in her recovery from surgery. Natalie had left town many years ago in pursuit of a dream which had turned into anything but what she had dreamed of.  She was basically out of work, out of money and looking for a new place to live, but that was information she would keep to herself.  If she could get through the next few weeks then she would be able to move on to the next break in her career.
The biggest problem for both of these characters is that they have a past and one that neither has forgotten.
This is an endearing story.  The plot is sweet and flows effortlessly.  I will admit to a book character crush on Connor.  I loved him immediately.  Natalie was someone I felt so much compassion for as I got to know her character.  She is very complex and has very real issues.  The good flow and pace keeps the reader's attention.  This story reminds you that no matter what stuggles you are facing today there is another chapter to your story.
I would recommend this story to anyone who loves a good, clean romance or even a holiday story.

What a beautiful cover!
It only gives you a glimpse at the sweet story hidden inside the pages.

Jean C. Gordon and Love Inspired have released the first in the Donnelly Brothers series, Winning the Teacher's Heart.
Wow, what a great romance!
The author weaves words together to literally bring the story to life.  The characters have flaws, but that's what makes them more real.  I loved getting to know Jared and Becca.  Jared left town years ago and has recently returned wanting to prove he's more than people think.  He's ready to put down roots and his one desire is to open a motocross race track.  He assumes once everyone hears his plans that they will immediately be excited and support his plans. Just one problem, Jared left his hometown under a dark cloud and his exploits on the motocross racing circuit haven't helped matters.
Becca Norton is a divorced mother of two, young children and a history teacher at the local high school.  She remembers Jared from high school and his brother, Connor, is her minister.  She sees that Jared is excited about his plans, but she has reservations about the race tract.  Of course her ex father-in law wants to shut it down completely and with Becca being on the zoning committee he thinks it's a done deal.

This is a touching story about two people that are reminded over and over again to trust in the Lord in all things.  Faith is a hard sometimes when the past keeps haunting us.  The characters weave their way into your hearts from page one and will keep you turning the pages. This is a sweet romance interwoven with some humor. I would recommend it to anyone.
