My Thoughts:

Beth Vogt has written another wonderful book.  She brings a storyline that will tug on your heart and characters that are easy to relate to.  The first two lines hooked me and I knew I would love the story. 

"A new day- another opportunity to prove herself to her boss.  Of course, Caron had complicated the whole "prove herself" challenge by working for her father."

Caron Hollister is a character that appears to have it all.  She come from an affluent family who owns a successful real estate firm where she works as an agent.  She is informally engaged to Alex Madison, someone she has known since elementary school and considers her best friend.  From an early age Caron had made a goal and that was to make her father proud of her.  She broke this down into a plan and took necessary steps to obtain her goal.  She put her plan into action by graduating from college, obtaining her real estate license and going to work for her father.  For years Caron has put her life literally on hold and focused on her job in hopes of proving to her father that she was worthy of inheriting the family business.  

 Caron was a character that I could easily relate to and I think most other readers will feel the same way.  I always wanted to make my parents proud while I was growing up.  I was the youngest of three so I'm sure that played a part of my looking for praise and acceptance.  Caron knew that she may never measure up to her father's expectations, but she still tried.  I think a lot of us take the wrong path at times trying to please others when the only person we should be trying to please is God.  

When Caron is faced with the truth, that she hasn't measured up to her father's expectations she comes to a crossroads in her life and a decision to make.  She decides to take time to think all her options through and heads to Colorado to assist her best friend/college roommate with preparations for her wedding.  The only problem is her trip only complicates her decision more.  

This book grabbed me from page one.  

I loved it!  

This story has elements of humor, acceptance, love, forgiveness, choices and faith.  I loved the characters and cheered for Caron to get her happily ever after.  This is a book I would recommend to anyone who loves a good story.

I loved this book!!!

This is a story about choices and trust, but it's also about so much more. It's a romance interwoven with a little suspense that is truly hard to put down until the last page is turned. 

Vanessa Hollister grew up as a military child moving from post to post and never putting down roots which is something she longs for.  She hated being the new kid at school and her senior year of high school was not different, but yet turned  out to be the year that changed her life. 

Vanessa met and married Logan Hollister her senior year of high school and truly thought their futures were set.  Unfortunately love does not conquer all.  A marriage takes communication and work by both people if it is to succeed. Was it youth, miscommunication, selfishness, or distance the downfall of their marriage?  I suspect a combination of all that and then some.  Regardless a mere two years after the "I dos" are spoken their marriage ends in divorce.   

Vanessa learns a valuable lesson, or so she thinks, and tries to put Logan and his betrayal in the past where it belongs.  After college she move to Colorado and begins a new life.  Fast forward 8 years and she finds herself engaged to Ted Topliff and planning her wedding.

  Ted is an ER physician and she is a paramedic so they have a lot in common.  One of the the things she loves about Ted is that he is practical, but sometimes maybe a little too practical, especially when he suggested a destination wedding. Ted wants to combine their wedding with a medical conference so he can obtain some educational credits.  The best conference was located in Destin, Florida and that's the one he wants to attend.  Even though Vanessa doesn't want to be married in Destin, Ted convinces her and encourages her to take a trip down to plan the wedding of her dreams. 

Vanessa decides going to Destin early to plan the wedding will be perfect after all.  She would be able to plan her dream wedding and at the same time she would finally face her past with Logan and put it to rest once and for all.  What she doesn't expect is to run into Logan after all these years or the Cat 2 hurricane to hit the area.  Needless to say both wrecked havoc on her plans.

This is a sweet romance that will tug on the heart of any reader. I was immediately drawn to the characters, but the engaging storyline kept me turning the pages until the end.  The bible tells us to pray about everything and to follow where God leads us.  The spiritual journey of the two main characters take is as important to this story as the romance. I would recommend this book to anyone.
