Vendetta
No one needs to push
Nikki Boyd to excel on the Tennessee Missing Persons Task Force. The
case of her own missing sister, still unsolved after ten years, is the
driving force in her work. When a Polaroid photo of a missing girl shows
up at a crime scene, Nikki quickly recognizes similarities to the past.
The closer she gets to the abductor, the more she feels this case has
become personal, and she is not the hunter . . . but the hunted.

Vendetta: a blood feud in which the family of a murdered person seeks vengence on the murderer or the murderer's family
Lisa Harris has released her first book in the Nikki Boyd Files, Vendetta.
This spine tingling plot grabbed me at page one and kept me turning the pages. She weaves a tale that's every parents worst nightmare, one of abduction. This book is a suspense and mystery rolled up into one. This is a fast paced plot that actually takes place in the space of 3-4 days.
Nikki Boyd is a special agent with the Tennessee Missing Person Task Force. She is a strong, confident woman who is haunted by the past. Her sister, Sarah, disappeared 10 years ago and hasn't been heard from since. The amount of heartbreak is not measurable that she and her family have experienced since Sarah's disappearance. She left her job teaching in hopes that she could help other families with someone missing.
Nikki is contacted by her superior that he needs help locating a missing teen from a remote cabin near where she is rock climbing with her friend Tyler. Finding out the teen, Brittney Ellison, has not gotten lost in the wilderness, but instead left willingly with someone she met online starts a chain of events indicating that things are more complicated than they ever imagined. Suddenly Nikki is seeing similarities that tie in with her sister's disappearance and it's like a jigsaw puzzle with her putting the pieces together.
Ms. Harris brings strong, well developed characters. I truly liked Nikki Boyd and had empathy for all she endured, but at the same time I truly admired her for the way she could compartmentalized while trying to solve this mystery. The author has a true talent with imagery that will draw the reader into the story. The character and setting are detailed and perceptive. The plot will keep you on the edge of your seat. She broaches tough issues and resolves those issues realistically.
Yes, I would recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense or a good mystery. I am anxious to read the next book in the series which is set to release in the summer of 2017.
*I received this book from Revell for a honest opinion without bias or outside influence. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
I’m a wife, mom, teacher, author, dreamer, photographer, world explorer, but most importantly a follower of Christ Jesus.
I currently live with my husband near the Indian Ocean in Mozambique where we work as church-planting missionaries. We’ve started the empty next stage with two children spread around the globe and a third—thankfully—still at home.
As a homeschooling mom, life is busy, but I see my writing as an extension of my ministry which also includes running a non-profit organization.
The ECHO Project works in southern Africa promoting Education, Compassion, Health, and Opportunity and is a way for us to “speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.” (Proverbs 31:8)
When I’m not working l love hanging out with my family at the beach, playing games, cooking different ethnic dishes, and heading into the African bush on safari.
