My Thoughts:

Liz Johnson is releasing her 5th installment in the Men of Valor series which takes us from Montana to San Diego where he is stationed.  Zach is a great guy, but as you can guess he thrives on adrenaline.  He has come home to check on his cousin's family.  Aaron was killed and he knew his wife and child were a responsibility that he couldn't ignore.  He finds Kristi still struggling with her grief and a seriously sick little boy.  In his attempt to help he offers a marriage proposal in name only, but in his heart hopes it evolves into a real marriage.  Their arrival in San Diego was met with Zach being deployed yet again. 

Kristi and Cody settle into a routine and life with Zach being gone, but when he returns home suddenly it appears someone is targeting Kristi.  Zach vows to protect his family and his heart if possible.  

This story is mystery interlaced with lots of suspense, but it also includes love, faith and trust.  It has a fast paced plot that grabbed me from the beginning and the many twists and turns  kept me turning the pages.  The engaging characters are complex, but very lovable.  Kristi was a loving mother and an intelligent woman.  Zach is just wonderful.  His character has a softer side with a tough exterior.  The story broaches a tough topic of organ transplant, but resolves it realistically.  

This is definitely a book I would recommend to anyone who loves a good suspense.
