Book Description

The case that's haunted one FBI profiler for years may have finally met its match in a sexy—and dedicated—detective…
When FBI profiler Isabella Cortez finds a stranger outside her office, she's in trouble. Because even though Detective Logan Greer is one of the good guys, their instant attraction is a serious distraction. Ella's got one mission: to find the criminal who hurt her friend and drove her to become a profiler. But Logan's appeal isn't just chemistry. He has a case that bears an eerie resemblance to the crime Ella's been trying to solve for years. Together, they're racing to stop a killer, but the closer they get, the more dangerous the search becomes. Falling in love could be deadly…or it could be the only way to survive.

My Review
Harlequin Intrigue is releasing a new series, The Lawman, by Elizabeth Heiter.  This book is the first in the series by Elizabeth Heiter who  is known for her gripping FBI novels Hunted and Vanished.
This series centers around 3 friends who grew up in a small farming town in Indiana. Scott is the older brother of Maggie who is best friends with Ella.  Maggie and Ella are roommates at college and one night during their senior year  Maggie fails to return to the dorm.  This night will change the life of these three friends forever.
I absolutely loved this book.  She brings characters that are not always perfect, but that seems to make them more human to me.  We are introduced to Ella who has worked with the FBI for 7 years as a profiler who has literally had to get into the mindset of the criminal. She is loyal, headstrong and very independent. Logan Green is a good detective and will go the extra lengths to get a case solved, but sometimes must break the rules to get this done.  He has a good heart, but is constantly having to prove himself at work since his dad is the mayor everyone likes to insinuate that that's how he not only got but keeps his job.
This story is full of suspense, but also includes a little romance. I was pulled into the story quickly and the fast paced plot kept me turning the pages.  I would recommend this book to anyone.
The second book in this series is Seduced By A Sniper set to be released March 1, 2015 and I look forward to reading it.
I was given this book by the author for a honest review without bias as stated above.
Meet the Author

Elizabeth Heiter

ELIZABETH HEITER likes her suspense to feature strong heroines, chilling villains, psychological twists, and a little bit (or a lot!) of romance. Her research has taken her into the minds of serial killers, through murder investigations, and onto the FBI Academy’s shooting range.
Her suspense series, The Profiler novels, have received critical acclaim. BookReporter called her debut HUNTED "a thriller that grabs readers from the first page" and Fresh Fiction said the sequel VANISHED "is a fast paced thriller that keeps the reader on the edge of the seat."
Elizabeth graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in English Literature. She’s a member of International Thriller Writers and Romance Writers of America.
