Tapped as lead counsel in a corporate cover-up lawsuit against Mason Pharmaceutical, Kate Sullivan knows this case could make her career. What really drives her, though, is getting justice for the victims whose lives were ruined by the company's dangerous new drug. But when a whistleblower turns up dead, it paints a target on the back of everyone involved.

Former Army Ranger turned private investigator Landon James steps in to handle security for Kate. He's still haunted by mistakes in his past and is determined never to let something like that happen again. But it soon appears someone is willing to do anything--even commit murder--to keep the case from going to trial.

As danger closes in, Landon can't help but admire Kate's courage and resolve--but will her determination not to back down become too great of a risk?

My Thoughts:

I have been a fan of Rachel Dylan and was so excited to hear of her new release being published by Bethany House.  In fact Deadly Proof is just the first novel in her Atlanta Justice series.  This legal suspense is sure to be a hit with readers.
The cover gives a glimpse at the suspense enclosed.
The characters and plot immediately pulled me in.  I immediately felt like I was Kate's confidant and she was including me in on everything going on in her life (the stress, hopes, dreams, questions, fears and feelings).  I really liked this character.  She is strong and faithful, but she is also a little naive. Landon James is a complicated character with a history that he wants to put behind him.  His history gives him insight into possibilities and lucky for Kate he's on her side.  The plot is a fast paced and keeps you guessing which for me means it's full of suspense.  The author's knowledge as an attorney gives the reader a glimpse at what is all involved with the job and made me feel like I was an intern learning what the job truly entails.  I love how the author weaves a message of faith into the story.
This books brings elements of spine tingling suspense, legal drama, turmoil, romantic tension, and lots of faith.  I think this will appeal to many people of like different genres so I will say that I would recommend it to anyone.  I was pulled in from the first page and didn't put it down until the last page, so it was a one sitting read for me.
I received this book from the author via the publisher.  I was not required to write a review.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rachel is currently working on the next book in this series and I am looking forward to it.
