Wilderness, Inc,

Wow! Elizabeth Goddard has done it again!
She has a new series and the first book, Targeted for Murder, is an action packed, edge of your seat suspense that will keep you turning the pages until the end. After closing the book I still couldn't get the characters off my mind.  Everyone thinks that when push comes to shove they can take care of themselves and so did Hadley Mason, but soon she realizes how inept she truly was.  Facing mortality she makes a choice and hopes it's the correct one.

The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
~Psalms 103:6

Wilderness, Inc:
Surviving the wilderness of Oregon takes training....
and trust.

Targeted for Murder (Wilderness, Inc.)

With his dying breath, Hadley Mason's fatally shot father reveals he's a CIA agent…and a bounty has been placed on both their heads. Heeding his urgent warning to disappear and trust no one, Hadley flees into the Oregon wilderness, but she can't shake the string of hired killers on her trail. So when a fearless and too-handsome wilderness guide comes to her rescue, Hadley has no choice but to put her life in Cooper Wilde's hands. The former Green Beret vows to protect her, but beyond steep gorges and treacherous terrain, a ruthless man will stop at nothing to see her dead.

My Thoughts:

Wild Rogue Wilderness, Medford - Oregon | Roadtrippers:
Wild Rogue Wilderness:
Surrounding the Wild and Scenic Rogue River, the rugged and complex canyon landscape of the Wild Rogue Wilderness provides watershed protection for the Wild portion of the river. The area is characterized by steep terrain of near vertical cliffs, razor-sharp ridges and cascading mountain creeks.

Do you see the beauty, the vastness, and danger?
Mostly I just see the beauty, but to survive I can truly imagine the danger.
Elizabeth Goddard introduces us to the first book, Targeted for Murder, in her new series, Wilderness, Inc.
I absolutely loved this story, setting and characters.
I have been reading Elizabeth Goddard's books for many years now.  She has a talent of weaving words together that bring the story to life for me.  This book was no different.  When I read the blurb  I immediately knew this was a book I wanted to read, of course I wasn't prepared for how powerful this story was going to be.
The cover leads the reader to see the beauty, yet the danger contained within.
From the first page I was immediately drawn in and saw that this would be a fast paced story. Hadley is a character that I was immediately drawn to. She is going about her ever day life when tragedy suddenly bursts in.  She's an artist and looks for the beauty in things, but nothing is beautiful about this.  She is first in shock, then fear sets in and soon she is literally running for her life.  The one person she looks to for guidance is no longer there for her, but has left her what she needs to survive this ordeal or so she thinks.  The most important thing pressed upon her is to trust no one!
And the adventure begins....
Cooper Wilde opened Wilderness, Inc. in Gideon, Orgegon  with the purpose of teaching people how to not only protect themselves, but also survival skills if ever necessary.  While guiding a tour from Rogue Valley he hears a scream and sees what appears to be a man pursuing a young woman with a gun.  His sixth sense, which was honned while in the Green Berets, and he found himself rushing down the mountain terrain in hopes he wouldn't be too late.  Arriving in time to see the woman's neck in her attackers clutches  he engaged the man in hand to hand combat. His military training kicked in and suddenly realized he was in a fight to the death with a trained assassin.
This is a story I would recommend to anyone who loves suspense, but it also has elements of faith, trust and a hint of romance.
**I received this book from the author for a honest review without bias or outside influence as stated above.
