Book Description

Savannah Dey politely agreed to attend her ex-husband’s wedding, but she’d be grateful for any reason to get out of it…which is why the speeding ticket from the handsome sheriff of Adams Grove is both a surprise and a reprieve. With one quick call to her editor, the aspiring columnist finds herself with a new assignment and the perfect excuse to get closer to the man who pulled her over. Sheriff Scott Calvin can’t forget the woman who set off his radar, but he’s determined to send Savannah on her way. He’s done making bad choices, and this beautiful city gal is sure to leave Adams Grove once she finishes her story. By the time she’s stirred up a hornet’s nest, he’s already falling for her. Will trouble bind them together, or will her secrets tear them apart?

My Review
This is a very sweet romance about two of the most unlikely people to become a couple, or are they? This is an entertaining story about two unique characters.  It contains humor, friendship, secrets and romance.
The author weaves a true to life dialogue that will pull the reader into the story.  The fast paced plot will keep them turning the pages.

We go travel back to Adams Grove, Virginia and meet Savannah Dey.  A beautiful, young woman who is a journalist for GetItNowNews by writing an advice column.  This is not exactly the kind of news she aspires to write, but for now it pays the bills.  When we first meet Savannah she appears snarky and snooty, but upon getting to know her you find a truly wonderful person who is trying to hide a deep seated heartbreak.  She is from Belles Corner a small town located in North Carolina which she escaped from as soon as she possibly could.  She has stayed away for years, but her Aunt Cathy has finally convinced her to return for her cousin's wedding.  Of course, the kicker to  the wedding is that the groom happens to be her ex husband.  Yes, you read that correctly, so needless to say this is not going to be a vacation.

Unfortunately as her mind wonders and her foot gets a little heavy her speed increases, so of course Sheriff Scott Calvin, in doing his sworn duty, pulls her over to issue a ticket.  If she thinks  things are bad now wait, it's about to get worse from here on out.  Being informed she has a low tire and her gas guage in not only on E but the light is now blinking Savannah knows she must hope she can make it to the next town.
Sheriff Scott Calvin believes it is his duty to uphold the law in his small town and doesn't believe in giving anyone a free ride.  He would love to settle down and raise a nice family, but so far that hasn't worked out for him.  Savannah Dey is an attractive woman, but she's from the city and would never settle for living in a small town.  Of course that was his interpretation from their meeting and her "holier than thou" attitude.  Scott has dealt with this type before and not something he wants to repeat any time soon.
I found something I loved about each of these characters.  They truly come to life for me on the pages.
I would recommend this to anyone who loves a good romance.
I received this from Netgalley for a honest opinion without bias.
